# ePic Character Generator vs Character Art

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ePic Character Generator at 81% against Character Art's 33%. ePic Character Generator also leads on device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Character Art's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.3) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ePic Character Generator sells 13 one-off in-app purchases and Character Art sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Character Art holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Character Art has 58 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of ePic Character Generator's written reviews are positive against 33% of Character Art's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ePic Character Generator ships an update every 2 weeks, Character Art every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
