# PencilboxShop vs Sumika Collection

The clearest difference is update cadence: Sumika Collection at every 6 weeks against PencilboxShop's every 11 months. PencilboxShop's advantage is ratings volume (41 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for PencilboxShop against 5.0 for Sumika Collection. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PencilboxShop has 41 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PencilboxShop ships an update every 11 months, Sumika Collection every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
