# Novelink vs WaStory

The clearest difference is monetization model: WaStory at free with in-app purchases against Novelink's subscription. WaStory also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Novelink's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2) and chart position (#123 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Novelink sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days and WaStory sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Novelink holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Novelink has 7K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 65% of Novelink's written reviews are positive against 62% of WaStory's.

Novelink ships an update every 2 months, WaStory every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
