# Optimal State vs RiseGuide

The clearest difference is update cadence: RiseGuide at every 4 days against Optimal State's every 5 months. RiseGuide also leads on ratings volume (20K vs 4) and chart position (#72 vs unranked). Optimal State's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Optimal State sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and RiseGuide sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Optimal State holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RiseGuide has 20K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Optimal State's written reviews are positive against 85% of RiseGuide's.

Optimal State ships an update every 5 months, RiseGuide every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
