# Zettelbox vs Apper

The clearest difference is update cadence: Apper at every 2 days against Zettelbox's every 2 weeks. Zettelbox's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zettelbox sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Apper sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Zettelbox ships an update every 2 weeks, Apper every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
