# Box Breathing vs Viz App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Viz App at none against Box Breathing's 5. Viz App also leads on review sentiment (90% vs 79%). Box Breathing's advantage is ratings volume (320 vs 9) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Box Breathing sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Viz App asks for nothing beyond the download.

Box Breathing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Box Breathing has 320 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Box Breathing's written reviews are positive against 90% of Viz App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
