# MotLe vs Codex

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Codex at 100% against MotLe's 33%. Codex also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MotLe sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Codex sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Codex holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Codex has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of MotLe's written reviews are positive against 100% of Codex's.

MotLe ships an update fortnightly, Codex every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
