# Backgammon Galaxy vs Backgammon Friends Online

The clearest difference is ads: Backgammon Galaxy at none against Backgammon Friends Online's shown. Backgammon Friends Online's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (6.1K vs 1.9K). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Galaxy sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Backgammon Friends Online sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backgammon Friends Online holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.9K and 6.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Backgammon Galaxy's written reviews are positive against 25% of Backgammon Friends Online's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
