# Backgammon Galaxy vs Backgammon Rounds

The clearest difference is rating: Backgammon Rounds at 5.0 against Backgammon Galaxy's 4.5. Backgammon Rounds also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). Backgammon Galaxy's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 1) and chart position (#127 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Galaxy sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Backgammon Rounds sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backgammon Rounds holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Galaxy has 1.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Backgammon Galaxy ships an update every 2 weeks, Backgammon Rounds every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
