# Timegate+ vs VPN Security

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VPN Security at 50% against Timegate+'s 6%. VPN Security also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 2). Timegate+'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Security sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days. Timegate+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Timegate+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN Security has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 6% of Timegate+'s written reviews are positive against 50% of VPN Security's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Timegate+ ships an update every 3 weeks, VPN Security fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
