# Kidle vs Strings

The clearest difference is rating: Strings at 4.8 against Kidle's 3.9. Strings also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 23) and review sentiment (80% vs 62%). Kidle's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kidle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Strings sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Strings holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Strings has 1K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 62% of Kidle's written reviews are positive against 80% of Strings's.

Kidle ships an update every 2 weeks, Strings every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
