# Falconry Journal vs Trimbox

The clearest difference is rating: Trimbox at 4.7 against Falconry Journal's 4.0. Trimbox also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (6K vs 19). Falconry Journal's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 52%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Falconry Journal sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Trimbox sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.19 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trimbox holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trimbox has 6K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Falconry Journal's written reviews are positive against 52% of Trimbox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Falconry Journal ships an update weekly, Trimbox every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
