# Smart switch vs File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool

The clearest difference is rating: File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool at 4.2 against Smart switch's 2.3. File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (43 vs 3). Smart switch's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart switch sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool has 43 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Smart switch's written reviews are positive against 33% of File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Smart switch ships an update every 2 weeks, File Transfer：PhotoSync Tool every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
