# Fora Communities vs BashMaps

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BashMaps at 73% against Fora Communities's 26%. Fora Communities's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BashMaps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Fora Communities asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fora Communities holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fora Communities has 1.3K ratings behind it against 54, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Fora Communities's written reviews are positive against 73% of BashMaps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fora Communities ships an update every 9 days, BashMaps every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
