# Cipherr vs Cortex

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Cipherr at none against Cortex's 1. Cortex's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 49 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cortex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Cipherr asks for nothing beyond the download.

Cipherr ships an update every 49 months, Cortex every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
