# Stone Identifier vs Hutton App

The clearest difference is rating: Hutton App at 5.0 against Stone Identifier's 4.4. Hutton App also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Stone Identifier's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stone Identifier sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Hutton App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hutton App holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stone Identifier has 1.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Stone Identifier ships an update every 3 weeks, Hutton App every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
