# Notes Air vs Simple Notes

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simple Notes at free against Notes Air's free with in-app purchases. Simple Notes also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes Air sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Simple Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 11 respectively.

Notes Air ships an update every 5 weeks, Simple Notes every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
