# Nitro PDF Pro vs Elephas

The clearest difference is rating: Nitro PDF Pro at 3.9 against Elephas's 2.4. Nitro PDF Pro also leads on ratings volume (161 vs 13). Elephas's advantage is review sentiment (26% vs 12%) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nitro PDF Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and Elephas sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nitro PDF Pro holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nitro PDF Pro has 161 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 12% of Nitro PDF Pro's written reviews are positive against 26% of Elephas's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nitro PDF Pro ships an update every 2 months, Elephas every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
