# Magic Flute vs Flying Cut

Magic Flute and Flying Cut both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Magic Flute's written reviews are positive against 23% of Flying Cut's. Magic Flute also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Flying Cut's advantage is ratings volume (30K vs 12). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magic Flute sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flying Cut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magic Flute holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flying Cut has 30K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
