# PACER for Schools vs Interval Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Interval Timer at 4.7 against PACER for Schools's 3.8. Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (3.6K vs 12). PACER for Schools's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 12) and review sentiment (100% vs 67%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. PACER for Schools asks for nothing beyond the download.

Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 3.6K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of PACER for Schools's written reviews are positive against 67% of Interval Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PACER for Schools ships an update every 2 months, Interval Timer every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
