# Cococam vs Xega

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cococam at free with in-app purchases against Xega's subscription. Xega's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (150 vs 32). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cococam sells 50 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Xega sells 27 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Xega holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 32 and 150 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Cococam's written reviews are positive against 91% of Xega's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cococam ships an update every 2 months, Xega every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
