# Orbot vs Permaclips

The clearest difference is rating: Permaclips at 4.0 against Orbot's 3.0. Orbot's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 0%) and ratings volume (970 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Permaclips holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orbot has 970 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Orbot's written reviews are positive against 0% of Permaclips's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Orbot ships an update monthly, Permaclips every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
