# Consensus Gentium vs Choosewise

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Consensus Gentium at none against Choosewise's 15. Consensus Gentium also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Choosewise's advantage is ratings volume (41 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Choosewise sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Consensus Gentium asks for nothing beyond the download.

Consensus Gentium holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Choosewise has 41 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Consensus Gentium ships an update every 2 months, Choosewise every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
