# Gizmo vs Thea

Gizmo and Thea both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 93% of Thea's written reviews are positive against 65% of Gizmo's. Thea also leads on device support (4 vs 2). Gizmo's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and chart position (#13 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gizmo sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Thea sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Gizmo against 4.9 for Thea. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gizmo has 15K ratings behind it against 2.5K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 65% of Gizmo's written reviews are positive against 93% of Thea's.

Gizmo ships an update every 4 days, Thea monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
