# Barcodes vs ECONO

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ECONO at none against Barcodes's 3. ECONO also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Barcodes's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and chart position (#134 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Barcodes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. ECONO asks for nothing beyond the download.

ECONO holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Barcodes has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
