# First Fields vs Wild Thumb

The clearest difference is rating: First Fields at 5.0 against Wild Thumb's 4.6. Wild Thumb's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (33 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

First Fields holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wild Thumb has 33 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

First Fields ships an update every 10 months, Wild Thumb every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
