# Forma vs Autonomous

The clearest difference is rating: Forma at 4.3 against Autonomous's 3.8. Forma also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (559 vs 8). Autonomous's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Autonomous sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Forma asks for nothing beyond the download.

Forma holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forma has 559 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of Forma's written reviews are positive against 47% of Autonomous's.

Forma ships an update every 2 weeks, Autonomous every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
