# Tricolor Time vs the waterfall

The clearest difference is ads: the waterfall at none against Tricolor Time's shown. the waterfall also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Tricolor Time's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tricolor Time sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months and the waterfall sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

the waterfall holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Tricolor Time's written reviews are positive against 88% of the waterfall's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tricolor Time ships an update weekly, the waterfall every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
