# Zeno vs Variant Athletics

The clearest difference is update cadence: Variant Athletics at every 2 days against Zeno's every 3 weeks. Variant Athletics also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Zeno's advantage is ratings volume (362 vs 6). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zeno sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Variant Athletics sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Variant Athletics holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zeno has 362 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 94% of Zeno's written reviews are positive against 100% of Variant Athletics's.

Zeno ships an update every 3 weeks, Variant Athletics every 2 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
