# MLAB SMART vs VEX

The clearest difference is update cadence: VEX at every 4 months against MLAB SMART's every 13 months. MLAB SMART's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MLAB SMART ships an update every 13 months, VEX every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
