# Speaker Intercom vs Intercom

The clearest difference is rating: Intercom at 5.0 against Speaker Intercom's 4.2. Intercom also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). Speaker Intercom's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speaker Intercom sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Intercom sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Intercom holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speaker Intercom has 26 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speaker Intercom ships an update every 2 months, Intercom every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
