# Sol vs Alfalfa

The clearest difference is rating: Alfalfa at 3.5 against Sol's 3.0. Alfalfa also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (15 vs 2). Sol's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Alfalfa holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alfalfa has 15 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sol ships an update every 5 months, Alfalfa every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
