# Scripture Notes vs Semper

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Semper at 100% against Scripture Notes's 57%. Semper also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3). Scripture Notes's advantage is ratings volume (65 vs 2) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scripture Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per month and Semper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Semper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scripture Notes has 65 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Scripture Notes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Semper's.

Scripture Notes ships an update every 10 days, Semper every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
