# Annual Memo vs Gen

The clearest difference is update cadence: Annual Memo at every 5 weeks against Gen's every 3 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Annual Memo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Gen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Annual Memo ships an update every 5 weeks, Gen every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
