# Letter Formation vs Learn Shapes

The clearest difference is rating: Letter Formation at 5.0 against Learn Shapes's 4.4. Letter Formation also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 9 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Learn Shapes's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Letter Formation sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Learn Shapes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
