# AutoPylot For Drones vs PreFlight

The clearest difference is monetization model: PreFlight at free against AutoPylot For Drones's free with in-app purchases. PreFlight also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 76%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). AutoPylot For Drones's advantage is ratings volume (5.4K vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AutoPylot For Drones sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and PreFlight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for AutoPylot For Drones against 5.0 for PreFlight. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AutoPylot For Drones has 5.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of AutoPylot For Drones's written reviews are positive against 100% of PreFlight's.

AutoPylot For Drones ships an update monthly, PreFlight every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
