# Private VPN Proxy vs DataGuard VPN Master

Private VPN Proxy and DataGuard VPN Master both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 78% of Private VPN Proxy's written reviews are positive against 33% of DataGuard VPN Master's. Private VPN Proxy also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and chart position (#108 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Private VPN Proxy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and DataGuard VPN Master sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DataGuard VPN Master holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Private VPN Proxy has 1.2K ratings behind it against 220, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Private VPN Proxy's written reviews are positive against 33% of DataGuard VPN Master's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Private VPN Proxy ships an update monthly, DataGuard VPN Master every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
