# Squan Tavern vs Tacoholics

The clearest difference is ads: Tacoholics at none against Squan Tavern's shown. Tacoholics also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 13 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Squan Tavern's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Squan Tavern against 5.0 for Tacoholics. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Squan Tavern has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Squan Tavern ships an update every 13 months, Tacoholics every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
