# Planmore vs Journal

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Planmore at 4.9K against Journal's 6. Planmore also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Journal's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Planmore sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Journal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Planmore has 4.9K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Planmore ships an update monthly, Journal every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
