# Range XTD Controls vs Portable WiFi

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Range XTD Controls at 97% against Portable WiFi's 20%. Range XTD Controls also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). Portable WiFi's advantage is rating (3.2 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (71 vs 4). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Portable WiFi sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Range XTD Controls asks for nothing beyond the download.

Portable WiFi holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Portable WiFi has 71 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 97% of Range XTD Controls's written reviews are positive against 20% of Portable WiFi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Range XTD Controls ships an update every 6 days, Portable WiFi fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
