# modern+chic vs Andar

The clearest difference is monetization model: modern+chic at free against Andar's free with in-app purchases. modern+chic also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). Andar's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for modern+chic against 4.9 for Andar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Andar has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

modern+chic ships an update every 3 weeks, Andar every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
