# modern+chic vs Juniper Books

The clearest difference is monetization model: modern+chic at free against Juniper Books's free with in-app purchases. Juniper Books's advantage is ratings volume (37 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for modern+chic against 4.9 for Juniper Books. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Juniper Books has 37 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

modern+chic ships an update monthly, Juniper Books every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
