# PDF Scanner Documents vs Scan OCR

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Scanner Documents at 4.7 against Scan OCR's 3.0. PDF Scanner Documents also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 19 months). Scan OCR's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner Documents sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scan OCR sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
