# ntPlayer vs BoxPlayer

The clearest difference is rating: BoxPlayer at 4.7 against ntPlayer's 4.1. BoxPlayer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (93% vs 72%). ntPlayer's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ntPlayer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and BoxPlayer sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BoxPlayer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 86 and 62 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of ntPlayer's written reviews are positive against 93% of BoxPlayer's.
