# Cootie Tester vs Particle Simulation

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cootie Tester at 100% against Particle Simulation's 25%. Cootie Tester also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4). Particle Simulation's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (46 vs 4). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Particle Simulation sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Cootie Tester asks for nothing beyond the download.

Particle Simulation holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Particle Simulation has 46 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Cootie Tester's written reviews are positive against 25% of Particle Simulation's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
