# Pdb vs Loop

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Loop at none against Pdb's 24. Loop also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs weekly). Pdb's advantage is ratings volume (5.2K vs 117). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pdb sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Loop asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Pdb against 4.1 for Loop. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pdb has 5.2K ratings behind it against 117, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of Pdb's written reviews are positive against 75% of Loop's.

Pdb ships an update weekly, Loop daily. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
