# Printer App vs QR Scanner

The clearest difference is monetization model: QR Scanner at free with in-app purchases against Printer App's subscription. Printer App's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (3.9 vs 3.5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Printer App sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and QR Scanner sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Printer App holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Printer App has 352 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 4% of Printer App's written reviews are positive against 0% of QR Scanner's.

Printer App ships an update fortnightly, QR Scanner every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
