# Apollo Books Tracker vs Italic Type

The clearest difference is rating: Italic Type at 4.8 against Apollo Books Tracker's 3.0. Italic Type also leads on ratings volume (31 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Apollo Books Tracker's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Italic Type holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Italic Type has 31 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Apollo Books Tracker's written reviews are positive against 86% of Italic Type's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
