# Apollo Books Tracker vs Bookbear

The clearest difference is rating: Bookbear at 4.5 against Apollo Books Tracker's 3.0. Bookbear also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 2) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bookbear holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bookbear has 21 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Apollo Books Tracker's written reviews are positive against 95% of Bookbear's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Apollo Books Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, Bookbear every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
