# Sound Amplifier vs Stereo Microphone

Sound Amplifier and Stereo Microphone both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 85% of Stereo Microphone's written reviews are positive against 34% of Sound Amplifier's. Stereo Microphone also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6). Sound Amplifier's advantage is price (Free vs $2.99) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 9). On rating, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Sound Amplifier is free to download; Stereo Microphone costs $2.99 up front. Sound Amplifier sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Stereo Microphone asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sound Amplifier holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sound Amplifier has 1.2K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Sound Amplifier's written reviews are positive against 85% of Stereo Microphone's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sound Amplifier ships an update every 2 weeks, Stereo Microphone every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
